Paris, France, hosted the International Congress of the European Respiratory Society from September 15 to 19 2018, which was attended by a delegation from Uzbekistan. The congress brought together both adult and pediatric pulmonologists including thoracic surgeons and researches, and managers of leading organization that work in this area of medicine. https://erscongress.org/home2018.html

The event agenda included plenary sessions, lectures, and satellite symposia dedicated to relevant areas such as administering a therapy, emergency care in cases of acute respiratory distress, sleep-disordered breathing, and investigation of pathological mechanisms that lead to the development respiratory diseases: interstitial lung diseases (ILD), lung thoracic oncology, respiratory infections and others.
Presentations on antibiotic treatment of pneumonia, severe course of sepsis (antibiotic resistance), diagnostics and treatment of bronchial asthma as well as cystic fibrosis, essential (primary) hypertension and other orphan diseases stirred increased interest among the participants. Satellite symposia were organized in collaboration with businesses that manufacture pharmaceuticals and medical equipment such as Sanofi Genzyme and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, GSK, Novartis, AstraZeneca, FUJIFILM SonoSite, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Medtronic and others.
