Paris, France, hosted the International Congress of the European Respiratory Society from September 15 to 19 2018, which was attended by a delegation from Uzbekistan. The congress brought together both adult and pediatric pulmonologists including thoracic surgeons and researches, and managers of leading organization that work in this area of medicine.

According to WHO, strokes and heart attacks are the main causes of death globally killing around 18 million people. This is one of the main causes of disability in the population. The statistics show that one in six people on the planet will experience a stroke once in their life, every six seconds someone dies of stroke regardless of age or gender.

A research and practice conference “Modern Principles of Stroke Patient Management” was conducted on 20 April 2018 under ESO-EAST Programme “Enhancing & Accelerating Stroke Treatment” in Central and Eastern European countries and beyond for a broad medical community. The conference agenda included presentations and discussion of relevant issues pertaining to optimization of stroke care, modern methods of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of stroke patients.
