Satellite symposium “New Possibilities of IHD Therapy” The capital of Uzbekistan hosted the VII Eurasian Congress of Cardiology at “International Tashkent”. The organizers of the congress were the Eurasian Association of Cardiology, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Association of Cardiologists of Uzbekistan, and the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology. The scientific agenda of the congress was dedicated to contemporary dimensions and achievements in cardiology as a science globally, new trends in prevention, diagnostics and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, development and practical use of innovative medical technologies in cardiology, challenges and prospects in laboratory and instrumental diagnostics, evidence-based pharmacotherapy for cardiovascular disease, setting up new registers, and improvements in quality of cardiologic care to the population. Academician R.D. Kurbanov (Uzbekistan) presented “Objectives and Development Prospects in Cardiologic Service in the Light of Ongoing Health Reforms”, Academician I.E. Chazova (Russia) gave a speech on “Russian 2019 Recommendations on Diagnostics and Treatment of Arterial Hypertension”, Academician A.G. Mrochek (Belarus) reported on “Problem of Sudden Cardiac Death. Significance of Cardiac Rhythm Disturbances” and Academician Yu.P. Ostrovskiy (Belarus) gave a talk on “Ten Years of Heart Transplantation in the Republic of Belarus”. Satellite symposia “New Possibilities of IHD Therapy”, “Current Issues Concerning Treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and Chronic Pulmonary Thromboembolic Disease”, “Possibilities of Interventional Cardiology: Today and Tomorrow” and others were organized within the frameworks of the congress. The congress agenda included sessions such as “Innovative Approaches to Diagnostics and Treatment of Acute and Chronic Cardiac Failure”, “Progress and Challenges in Cardiology of the 21st Century”, “From Arterial Hypertension to Ischemic Heart Disease: Better Ways to Detect and Treat”, “Cutting Edge Issues of Arrhythmology” and others . An ODA National Multicenter Observation Program to assess the efficacy and therapeutic response to daily practical use of Preductal OD 80 mg for treatment of stable angina pectoris was presented. Therapy aimed at correction of changes in energy metabolism, which is essential in case of ischemia, was described because it prevents initial stages of myocardial cell damage.
