Academician R. Kurbanov, addressed the participants with welcoming words at the Forum opening ceremony and underscored the high relevance of hypertention treatment, especially, the high incidence of comorbid conditions: diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, CRD, COPD, cerebrovascular diseases and others, which affect the course, nature and severity of complications, which frequently obscure diagnostics, and, indeed, determine specifics in choosing antihypertensive medications. In this context, cardiologists require extensive knowledge of concomitant diseases with the view of preventing a risk for development of life-threatening complications.
