Representatives of the Nature Heart Foundation visited the Republican Children's Psychoneurological Hospital named after U. K. Kurbanov in Uzbekistan

For many years, the Nature Heart Foundation (Germany) has been providing support to the Republican Children’s Psychoneurological Hospital named after U. K. Kurbanov in Uzbekistan. On October 21, representatives of the foundation once again visited the hospital. Together with young patients, artist Alexander Höller painted a wall in one of the classrooms of the hospital’s school.

Previously, the foundation had renovated and equipped the Phytoland playroom, created a sensory room, installed an X-ray diagnostic system, and refurbished and equipped two classrooms and a computer lab for children undergoing long-term treatment at the hospital. The surgical unit was also upgraded with modern medical equipment, enabling orthopedic surgeons to perform longer and more complex operations not only on muscles and ligaments but also on bones.

A correspondent from Medical Express asked representatives of the Nature Heart Foundation to share their impressions.

Professor Michael Popp:

“It is always a great pleasure for me to visit this clinic in Tashkent because here I can help the most seriously ill children. It’s an incredible feeling to see them grow, make progress, and gain new strength.

I would especially like to highlight the wonderful staff — they are true heroes.

We, as benefactors, simply come and help with equipment, but these people work here every single day. Everything we provide, we purchase ourselves — directly from manufacturers such as Siemens or Storz, and deliver it here. We don’t send money to the clinic — we bring exactly what is needed.

It is very important that children here are treated with love. I personally saw a child who once couldn’t move his arm begin to move it again. Moments like these are deeply inspiring.

We want these children not just to survive, but to live with joy, with smiles, with happiness. And when you see their bright, kind, joyful faces, you realize that all of this is truly worth it.

I am also grateful to artist Alexander Höller, who joined us on this trip to Uzbekistan and created a large, bright painting together with the children in one of the hospital classrooms.”

Artist Alexander Höller:

“I first learned about the Nature Heart Foundation in 2023, when I donated one of my paintings to a charity auction. Even then, I was deeply moved by how much good this organization does. Later, I got to know the team better, attended a charity evening in Munich, and realized that I wanted to be part of this mission.

I’ve participated in many charity projects, but with the Nature Heart Foundation, there is something truly special — genuine humanity and sincerity. I’m inspired by Professor Popp’s example — he personally comes here regularly to see everything with his own eyes and understand how to help even better.

I often say: humans and nature must be in harmony — that’s what makes us truly human. We live in a technological world, but we should never lose our connection with nature, with our hearts, to love for people. That’s exactly what I feel every time I’m with the Nature Heart Foundation.

I was especially touched by how warmly the children welcomed me at the hospital. We created paintings together, each one unique. One boy, for example, painted for almost two hours, completely immersed in the creative process — it was incredibly moving to watch.

Today, we painted a wall together — this colorful mural is a symbol of hope and light. I wanted to leave a piece of myself here, something kind that will remind everyone: anything is possible if you believe and create with love.”
